Pomegranate Berry Breakfast Smoothie

Happy Monday friends!

This past weekend I celebrated my birthday, and every year on my birthday I like to start off the day with a delicious breakfast. It was definitely a reminder that I need to do that more often. A healthy breakfast is so important for so many reasons. Even if you are short on time, if you can grab something healthy for on the go, it will definitely start your day off right!

Currently, I have a favourite breakfast smoothie I love to whip up in the morning. Sometimes I will just drink it alone, but if I have more time I’ll have it alongside something else yummy.

Here’s what you’ll need for a pomegranate-berry breakfast smoothie!

 You will need…

(Serves 1)

About 1/3 cup of frozen organic berry mix (Includes cherries, blackberries, and blueberries)

Half of a ripe banana

A few heaping spoonfuls of Vanilla Yogourt (I use no fat organic yogourt)


1/2 cup of blueberry pomegranate juice (Pom brand)



 Putting this smoothie together is SO simple and the ingredients can be easily tweaked your liking or for what you have handy.

First, start layering in your ingredients. I started with frozen berries.

Then add in your banana…

Then add your vanilla yogourt – I simply scooped some spoonfuls onto the top, I’m not too particular about measurements. If you’d like to add some flax seeds or another favourite seed, feel free!

Next, add in a bit of ice – this just helps thicken up the mixture. As an alternative, you could always chop & freeze a banana in the freezer the night before which also helps to thicken up the consistency.

Top everything off with your blueberry Pom juice. If after blending you find it’s too thick you can add more, but I just add a splash of water to limit the amount of juice.

Now you’re ready to blend the ingredients in your blender!

Blend until smooth. (It is a smoothie, after all!)

When you are finished blending, simply pour into your favourite glass, and enjoy. 🙂

This smoothie is seriously SO yummy, guys!  It’s a tasty & refreshing way to start off your morning during the warmer months. 🙂
