How is your summer going thus far? Over here on the east coast of Canada we are finally experiencing some warmer summer weather, and it has been just lovely. I’m working away at two university courses this summer, but when I can I’m getting out to enjoy this heat with friends, and of course getting blog posts out to you. 😉
Today I want to share with you a simple wood and summery mantel I put together for my parents with items they had around their home. Shopping your own home I think can be the funnest shopping adventure of all. Coming up with something beautiful with things you already have can create something unexpected and beautiful (Did I mention free?)
The photos of this mantel are not doing it justice at all.
The massive wood starburst mirror above the mantel was in another area of the livingroom originally. We scored it at Winners on clearance for $30! Incredible!
This cute little birdcage was bought on a trip to the Christmas Tree Store in Bangor, Maine.
The rustic candlestands are from Wicker Emporium, again purchased on clearance. The white candlestands are from a discount store called Bargain Harley’s here in Nova Scotia.
Have you created a summer mantel this year? I would love to see it and hear what you think of ours!
Enjoy the day!
