The bathroom renovation I am completing as part of a design series for you is under way!
So far, we have been working on painting *phewf*. Tomorrow I’m going on a shopping trip for some accessories for the space. I thought today would be ideal to share with you my design board for this room. I will, of course, share with you in another post how I came about selecting the colours for this bathroom.
My inspiration for this room came largely from other areas in this home I have been working on renovating. I wanted everything to flow throughout the home, so I went with the a neutral colour palette with pops of navy. There isn’t currently navy in this house, but we do have other bits of other blue shades throughout so navy should help to bring all of this together.
Design boards are ideal for you to create to help bring a vision you have in your mind to life. There’s many resources online to create these, but even just a Pinterest board for a specific space would work perfectly. You don’t need the exact products you plan to use, but having general ideas all in one area can help you alter or solidify what you plan to accomplish – and they are likely going to INSPIRE you! I like to create my boards on PowerPoint and save them as an image.
This bathroom is quite small and fairly basic, so accessories is what is really going to take it to the next level and bring the room to life. I’m going for silver/chrome finishes for the handles and faucet because this home has a very unique contemporary mixed with country style. I love watching this house transform into this new style because I’m not quite sure it’s something I’ve seen before. I can’t wait to share more rooms with you!
Now that the paint is underway, I’m hoping this board can help guide me on my shopping trip tomorrow. Try putting one together for yourself before you begin a design!
The next chapter of this series will be how to select the ideal colour pallet for your design, and you’ll see how I came up with mine!
