July Favourites

breathetrustletgo

Hello friends!

First of all, I need to say a great big THANK YOU to all of you who reached out in regards to my last post. The outpour of support in comments, messages, and through my social media truly warmed my heart and I cannot thank each & every one of you enough – but know I am virtually sending a BIG hug your way! I took some time for myself after I made the announcement on Nest of Bliss (keep in mind this all went down way before I announced it on here), but it was a big step for me to say it ‘out loud’ to all of you.

As you may have noticed, Nest of Bliss has a new look! I’m transitioning the blog to include ‘lifestyle’ posts. This was something that was always in the back of my mind, but now with the big changes in my life it makes sense to take the bull by the horns and go with it. What this means is that you will now see incorporated with the usual decor & DIY posts, is recipes, fashion, beauty, advice… you name it! This just allows for me to be more flexible with my blog and further express myself.

With that being said, I have decided to add a monthly favourites to the blog. Each month I will pick my favourite things for that particular month and share them with you. I know I personally love hearing what my friends’ current favourite things are, so this is a bit like ‘coffee or wine’ with the friends so to say! (At our beautiful virtual kitchen island, perhaps? Or maybe even poolside…)

Here are my favourites for July!

Favourite Colour

wythe-blue

My favourite paint colour this month is Benjamin Moore’s Wythe Blue. This is in my opinion the perfect slightly muted down blue/green colour for doors and accents! My parents have it on a french door in their home & lemme tell ya, it’s gorgeous!

Favourite Measuring Cups

This mason jar measuring cup set from World Market is absolutely to die-for! Downfall? No shipping to Canada. I was lucky enough to have my mother surprise me with the adorable piece as a gift. A relative in the states had to order it and send it our way, costing around $40! Yikes! However, this is still a July favourite for me & something I hope to have years to come.

Favourite Apartment

apartment

I’m so into fun fabrics & pops of colour lately! My style for my farmhouse kept very true to the home while infusing a bit of my own coastal style, but I think my next place might incorporate a little bit more boldness & fun! You can see the full video of this apartment tour from here

Favourite Living Room

My current love for pops of colour are evident in this bright & cheery living room. I could certainly sit here all day! What do you think?

Favourite Song

My song pick for this month would hands-down have to be Sundress by Landon Austin. Landon is a musician on YouTube who creates beautiful covers as well as original songs – his music is an overall favourite for me this summer, but his song Sundress just has a special place in my heart!

Favourite Beauty Product

My beauty favourite for this month is a makeup-remover called Take It Off by Hard Candy. I’m not someone to wear a heap of heavy eye makeup, but with the summer months comes waterproof mascara which seems impossible to remove. I’ve used baby oil in the past, but have found that to be incredibly messy. The lotion consistency of this remover is ideal for just lightly applying to the eyes without any harsh scrubbing necessary. This product has been a major time-saver!

Favourite Read

My favourite book this month was The Confidence Code by Katty Kay & Claire Shipman. This book is an amazing insight into how women’s confidence is truly developed and why our confidence is so different from men’s. A real eye opening book that I would recommend to every woman young & old. Forget what you’ve been told about confidence in the past — it is truly something you must earn!

Well, that is all my favourites for the month of July! It’s hard to believe that August is right around the corner – this time of year really flies by, doesn’t it?!

Enjoy the last bit of your Wednesday! 🙂

I love all the room pictures and the blue paint. I just went to try and get that makeup remover and it is not available now……… just phooey. lol.

And I want to try that Minwax in the Weathered Oak. I tried the fine steel pads and vinegar and it turned my yellow pine a hideous orange…. no grey at all…. that was a huge waste of time. Then someone said put a penny in the vinegar instead of steel wool pads…. that did nothing. I ended up using white ceiling paint as a white wash, then my pale blue watered down over the white. It was my head board I made.

And that measuring cup set is so flippin cute!

    • Sheryll the SAME thing happened to me when I tried the steel and vinegar mixture! I honestly think it must depend on the type of wood used. I first my farmhouse table with it – luckily I was able to salvage the table with trial & error but I was SO disappointed! Blue and white over a headboard sounds gorgeous though! I’m sure it turned out beautifully! 🙂

  2. Looove those Mason Jars!!!! That’s silly they won’t ship to Canada

    • Cute, right?! I know.. especially with a name like World Market! I cannot even peruse their website because I fall in love with too much of their merchandise!
